Artist Support & Distribution Manager

This role will land you right in the middle of an exciting and evolving industry – The Music-Technology industry.

With the vision to democratize the music industry, Record Union runs a distribution platform that puts artists' music on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play and many more. We create artist opportunities through our partnerships, music expertise and data science. We believe that independent artists should be able to stay independent and succeed independently.

As a member of the Customer Experience team, your daily work will help a wide range of artists, local and global, a singer-songwriter releasing their first single, a hiphop collective releasing their 7th album, and the latest collaboration project with your favorite producer in electronic music. Your job is to guide them through all aspects of music distribution, and make releasing music independently a fantastic experience.

Role description

  • Provide daily and outstanding support to our customer base - independent artists and labels
  • Review audio and metadata to make sure that the releases are compliant with the digital stores' requirements, and hold a high quality standard
  • General troubleshooting 
  • Improving processes and practises together with your team and the company
  • Collaborate with teams in other departments in contributing to tech-solutions, music/artist/genre knowledge, PR- and marketing campaigns, etc.


Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3 years experience from working with customer care
  • Focused on delivering high quality in every detail
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Eager to learn and continue to grow, and sharing knowledge with team members
  • Experience in working in digital programs and applications
  • General knowledge about the music industry

  • Willing and able to take on assignments, with individual responsibility
  • Known for having a broad knowledge in music, maybe even the go-to-friend for artist recommendations, and making playlists for road trips
  • Someone with strong attention to detail, and pride in delivering your best, every time


Bonus round

  • Written and spoken Swedish 
  • Proficiency in languages (other than Swedish and English)
  • Experience in working in a support ticketing system
  • Knowledge about metadata and supply chain to DSPs
  • Knowledge about copyright laws and royalties
  • Practicing music in some form
  • Insight in trends and music culture in different territories
